The new Alabama Nonprofit Corporation Law became effective on January 1, 2011.  The Alabama Nonprofit Corporation Law replaces the former Alabama Nonprofit Corporation Act.  The new Law, though, is mostly a recodification and reorganization of the old Act rather than a substantive revision.  The new Law is part of a general reorganization of Alabama's business and nonprofit entities statutes into a "hub-and-spoke" format.  The Alabama Nonprofit Corporation Law is codified in Chapter 3 of Title 10A of the Code of Alabama.  (The complete text of the Alabama Nonprofit Corporation Law can be viewed in a new window by following this link.)
